The work

Before and after. Same car, same day.

Before and after of a white Mini Cooper S exterior — dull, dusty paint restored to a deep gloss
Before and after of a Chevy Silverado driver footwell — debris-covered floor liner and dusty carpet cleaned back to factory black
Before and after of a brake-dust-coated Audi wheel deep cleaned to bright silver, tire dressed
Before and after of a Chevy Silverado running board — chalky, road-filmed step bar cleaned and dressed to an even black

Enhancement Polish

  • Removes light swirls, water spotting, and oxidation
  • One machine pass — not a multi-stage correction
  • Paint decontamination is part of it, not extra
  • Sealed afterward so the gloss holds

Headlight Restoration

  • For yellowed, hazed, or cloudy lenses
  • Sanded back, polished clear, then ceramic sealed
  • The sealant is what keeps it from hazing again
  • Flat rate — headlights are headlights

Add-ons are booked alongside a Full Detail, not on their own.
Not sure what your paint needs? Send photos and I'll tell you straight — most cars don't need a polish.

The owner

One person does the work. It's me.

I'm Max Murphey. Murphey Detailing is owner-operated, which means the person you talk to on the phone is the same person who shows up, does the work, and stands behind it. No crews, no subcontractors, no wondering who's in your driveway.

Every vehicle gets the same process I'd want on my own car — and if something isn't right, you tell me directly and I fix it.

04 — How it works

Three steps, one driveway

STEP 01

Book it

Send a few photos of the interior and exterior — every vehicle, every class. That's what makes the quote accurate before I arrive, with no surprises for either of us.

STEP 02

I come to you

Park where it's convenient and get on with your day. All I need is access to an outdoor outlet and a water spigot — everything else arrives with me.

STEP 03

Keep it that way

Roll onto a maintenance plan and the car stays at that level. No slow slide back to where it started.

05 — Questions

Asked before every first visit

How long does a Full Detail take?

Plan on 4–7 hours depending on the size and condition of the vehicle. It's a full restoration, not a car wash. Maintenance plan visits are much quicker.

Why do you need photos before quoting?

Because condition drives the price as much as size does. A maintained sedan and a neglected one are the same car and a very different day of work. Photos let me give you a real number up front instead of an estimate that moves once I'm in your driveway.

Does my car need a polish?

Probably not. A polish is for paint with visible swirls, water spotting, or dullness that a wash and sealant won't fix. Send photos and I'll tell you straight — I'd rather talk you out of it than sell you something your paint doesn't need.

Do I need to be home?

No. Most clients get me set up, hand off access to the vehicle, and get on with their day. Just stay reachable by phone in case a question comes up.

Do you need my keys?

I need access to the interior, so either the keys or an unlocked car. Keys are returned the moment the work is done, or left wherever we arrange.

What do you need from me?

A place to park with room to work around the vehicle, an outdoor power outlet, and a water spigot. Everything else arrives with me. And don't worry about the water bill — a full wash uses less than a lawn sprinkler cycle.

What happens if it rains?

I watch the forecast and reschedule at no charge. You'll hear from me the day before, not the morning of.

06 — Before you book

The honest fine print

How condition is priced

Every vehicle is quoted from photos before booking — light, moderate, or heavy. These are quoted separately on top of that:

  • Excessive pet hair
  • Smoke or persistent odor treatment
  • Biohazard (bodily fluids)
  • Mold or mildew

You get one number before I start, and it does not change when I show up.

Service area & payment

  • Modesto, Ceres, Salida, Riverbank, Oakdale, Turlock, and the rest of Stanislaus County
  • Home or workplace — wherever the car sits, with power and water nearby
  • Cash, debit, or credit accepted

Not sure whether you're in range? Send a message and ask. It's usually a yes.

Ready when you are.

Every quote starts with a conversation. Send a few photos and you'll have a real number back the same day — not an estimate that changes when I show up.
